The Hunt For Money

As I pulled out a Post Office receipt from my pocket today, I was struck with the notion of how dependent all of us are on the availability of money in our lives. For most of us that availability hinges on having a job, a pension plan, receiving social security or help from our family. But those resources are temporary and meager at best and unreliable at their worst.

Staying employed seems to be the number one issue for most Americans, because it is through employment that we think we are best able to pay bills and put food on the table. But millions of hard-working Americans have lost their jobs in recent years. And the ups and downs of the stock market have robbed millions more of their retirement pension. Social Security is there for sure, but being dependent on SS means living below the poverty level.

We dream of having the freedom to do those things in life we would like to do but do not do, simply because there is not enough money. It seems no matter how many hours we work, no matter how much money we can set aside, there is never enough money to break free.

Sadly many Americans have taken on debt as a way to finance their lifestyle. But being indebted means more hours to work, more sacrifices to be made. Indebtedness is not the answer, it frequently imprisons us beyond our capacity to escape. According to the credit card industry, the average credit card debt is $9,000, and half of all U.S. households report difficulty paying their minimum monthly payments. This means millions of families will spend many years just to pay what they owe. There has to be a better way to live and work, to be free of money concerns. Fortunately there is!

Begin a Home-based Business:
Starting a part-time home-based business is the number one way the average person can escape the time and money trap. Set-up cost is usually less than $500, and comes with many tax advantages that can place immediate cash in the business-owner’s pocket. A typical part-time home business owner can realize several thousands of dollars in tax savings, regardless of whether the business operates at a profit or loss.

Network marketing is far and away the easiest route to owning a home-based business. Network marketing represents a huge industry. Annual revenues are estimated in excess of $100 billion, and are growing more than 10 percent annually. According to Forbes magazine, of the 300 billionaires in the U.S., at least three of them made their fortunes in network marketing. Hundreds more are millionaires, and thousands more are making a $100,000 or more annually. Many of these people started with nothing more than a vision to escape the time and money trap they once were in.

With a network marketing home-based business you are able to determine your own level of involvement, to set your goals and business plan accordingly. Rather than exchanging your time and energy for a paycheck, you decide what your reward will be based on the time and effort you put into your business.

Leveraging Time:
How much money are you worth an hour? I know each of us fully believes we are truly worth much more than what we are  actually paid. But consider this…If you are a salaried employee, receive an hourly rate for each hour worked, or simply get paid for services rendered, your time is worth exactly the amount you agreed to work for…and no more. Money earned in this manner is generally referred to as linear income.

Now there is nothing wrong with linear income. People can earn good money by it. Hourly wages can run from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars per hour. There is, however, one BIG drawback involved with linear income…Income is limited to the number of hours worked, and ONLY pays when you work. In other words, when you stop work, it stops! So while linear income may be the manner in which most Americans earn their pay checks, it is also the main reason why so many of us cannot afford to retire.

With network marketing you are paid for creating value, instead of your time. It’s called time leveraging. With time leveraging, there is no hourly limit placed on your worth. Increasing amounts of money may continue be earned irregardless of time spent…hence the name - time leveraging. Your time spent creating value becomes increasingly worth more and more. So if time is worth money, leveraged time has no upper limit of its worth.

Are You Ready For Change?

As you consider what you have read, ask yourself these two questions.

If I cannot obtain financial freedom now, when?
If I am not willing to help myself, who will?

Death Pledge

Do you have a mortgage?

If so, you have signed a death pledge. That’s right, a death pledge. You see, the word mortgage is derived from the Latin words, mort and gage. Mort means death, and gage means to pledge. Scary thought isn’t it? For that is exactly how most people treat their mortgage, as a death pledge.

For millions of mortgagees, making the mortgage payment every month comes before anything else in life. People will go without food and other basic needs just so they can keep up with their mortgage payments.

Now I mention this fact to point out how this death pledge mentality carries over into other areas of life. There are people who will enslave themselves to sometimes two or more jobs to meet the death pledge they have signed. The operative word here is enslavement.

You see, most people treat their jobs as though those jobs were death pledges as well. That is because without their jobs people could lose everything they have worked for, including the house they mortgaged to live in.

What makes this scene all the more scary is that most people enslave themselves to jobs out of ignorance, unaware or unsure of choices they have that could free them of death pledges.

How many people do you know who paid cash for their car or home? No mortgage, or car loan. Not many? Okay, let me lower the bar a little? How many people do you know who paid cash for their washer and dryer, refrigerator, or furniture? Begin to see my point? Most people do not have cash to pay for even basic needs because they are enslaved to a death pledge way of life and thinking.

There is no way out of this enslavement except through our own will. Until each one of us reaches that point in our life where we say, “I’ve had enough. I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore,” life will go on with its usual expectations.

And what are those expectations? Job uncertainty, never-ending credit card debt, fear of losing health insurance benefits, cost of repairs, having enough money at the end of the month, and on and on.

For those people who became mad as hell, for those people who determined to change their lives, life is different. First and most important, they have control of their lives back. They are no longer dependent on someone else to meet necessities of life. They are people who realized they can shape their destiny through freedom of choice an will.

The choice they willed is to become their own employer. They set aside time each day to build their own business. And they wisely chose partnering with others who made it in life, people who can pay cash for homes, and learned how to duplicate their success.

At the risk of sounding like a philosopher, let me suggest this thought to you. If you want to regain control of your life, do not follow the crowd. Do not do what the crowd is doing. Walk away. Find those who, like you, have chosen to walk away and walk with them.

There is an old custom called mortgage burning. After the last mortgage payment is made, the old mortgage papers are set afire and burned. It is a happy, joyous time because burning the mortgage means freedom. But few people burn mortgages today. This is because many home buyers have mortgaged the equity in their homes to pay off credit card debt, and will die before their homes are paid for. Sadly, because of their death pledge mentality, they will continue to build more credit card debt.

The death pledge mentality has become a way of life for millions, but there is a better way to live. The hinge
questions are…Are you mad as hell? Are you willing to make change?

If you answered yes to those two questions, here’s a video presentation you might want to watch.
